“Positive.” He stared straight ahead in the most stubborn and irritated fashion, as if his own execution was a waste of his time.
“Alright.” The executioner shrugged, but it was obvious that he was annoyed.
The boy gave the herald the most disrespectful stare as his crimes were listed. He rolled his eyes at each accusation. The whole ordeal was like one big show. I had never wanted to laugh so hard at such an inappropriate time. I liked him in a way. I guess I could say that I was glad, but it was as it the boy already knew the king of thieves wasn’t going to let him die.
